Meet Emily Randall
We are thrilled to welcome Emily Randall to Legal Voice as our new Director of Development and Communications!
Emily brings years of experience working in development planning, strategy, and implementation at like-minded organizations to the Legal Voice team and the position. She’ll also serve on our leadership team, helping to guide us in our transition to community lawyering and centering race equity in our work while strengthening our financial sustainability.
At a turning point in the history of our country and communities – when we're publicly grappling with institutionalized racism and anti-Blackness, health inequity, and the rights of those pushed to the margins – I'm so grateful to be joining the incredible team at Legal Voice as Director of Development & Communications.
Together we are recommitting to working towards a more just and equitable future for all of us – a future in which we use our power and experience as a feminist organization to support our BIPOC neighbors, to walk alongside communities of color, and to learn and grow as we amplify the voices and expertise of folks most impacted.
This work is personal to me. I'm a queer Chicana woman, a first-generation college graduate, an advocate for, and accomplice to, my sister with developmental disabilities – and someone who's spent most my career raising money to support mission-driven organizations working to expand health and education access for women, children, and the LGBTQ community.
I wear a few other hats too: dog-mom to Frida, partner to Alison, state senator in Washington's 26th district, and gardener's apprentice to my abuelito. -- Emily Randall
