Tools To Help You
Legal Voice believes that giving people information about their legal rights empowers them to make decisions and advocate for themselves and their families.
You can look at and download information on many subjects. Just click on one of the topics to the left to see our free materials. If you do not see your legal issue or problem, or you just want to talk with someone about your rights, call our Legal Information and Referral telephone line (I&R):
- 206-621-7691
- Toll Free: 866-259-7720
- TTY: 206-521-4317
Our volunteers can give you information about Washington law, referrals to community services and attorneys in private practice, assistance with problem-solving, and self help materials.
Language Line interpreter services are available on our I&R Line. If you are referring a limited English proficient caller to this service, please ask the caller to state her/his first or preferred language and to hold for connection to a telephone interpreter service.
If you are a resident of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska, and feel you have a public impact case that will advance women's legal rights, you may call one of the numbers above and your case will be evaluated.
Self Help and Legal Education Publications
Legal Voice offers many free Self Help and Legal Education materials on our website. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view them. You can download Acrobat for free here. Please scroll down to learn more about these documents.
Our work is extensive, but there are some things we cannot do.
Legal Voice does not have the resources to:
- Give legal advice over the telephone line (we give accurate legal information, but not advice).
- Have attorneys on our staff to represent individuals
- Provide a list of attorneys who will represent people for free
- Meet with callers; we assist people by telephone only
